The November 2018 meeting of the Green Party of Pennsylvania will be a two-day conference in Harrisburg at the heart of Pennsylvania! Come join us as we finish out our year with a celebration of accomplishments!
This is a time for reflecting on what we’ve achieved, sharing what we’ve learned, and strategizing for next year. Our venue is an 1860’s era former church that has been remodeled into the perfect meeting space for us. All meetings and workshops will be held in this space and up to 30 attendees can also reserve overnight accommodations on Friday and Saturday nights. There is a full kitchen for meal preparation and we’ll be facilitating the organization of potluck meals to keep costs low.
The conference will begin on Saturday morning at 10:00 a.m. with an expo of what our volunteer teams have done throughout the year. A keynote speaker (to be announced) will lead the afternoon sessions, which will include workshops filled with practical information to educate and prepare us for the coming year. A full agenda will be available soon. Following the afternoon program, we will join together for dinner in Harrisburg, for those who want to attend, and then movie night back at our meeting place. Sunday’s meeting will be from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
The cost for the Saturday activities and workshops is $35 (meals not included, although light food will probably be available). There is no charge for the Sunday meeting – all interested members of the public may attend to learn more about the Green Party of Pennsylvania and Party operations. Only delegates of the Green Party of Pennsylvania may vote during the business meetings.
The cost for overnight accommodations is $30 and covers Friday and Saturday nights. The lodgings are communal although there are three floors and various separate spaces. Depending on the number of people staying, some sleeping spaces may include cots or air mattresses. The group staying overnight, as a whole, will determine sleeping arrangements at the time of the event.
