"A Century of Suffrage"
2020 is a presidential election year -- It is also the 100th anniversary of the 19th Constitutional Amendment, giving women the Right to Vote. On August 26, 1920 the Amendment was signed and became the law of the land.
In 1927 the Pennsylvania Federation of Democratic Women was founded to promote the appointment and election of Democratic women. The PA Federation provides financial assistance and resources to qualified Democratic candidates for local, state, and federal offices. We all work to Empower Women in Politics - running for office, working for women candidates, and voting!
Here in Southwestern Pennsylvania our Democratic Women's clubs in Westmoreland, Cambria, Allegheny, Washington, Indiana, Somerset, Fayette and Greene Counties will be celebrating the
anniversary and working to make PA BLUE again by hosting the PA Federation of Democratic Women's annual Convention. The Convention will be held at the Ramada Inn in Greensburg -- June
19-20-21 2020 -- we are planning some very special activities and have invited Speaker Nancy Pelosi, and all of the women candidates for President to be a part of our celebration. More information will be coming your way early next year.
